Through a Misty Dream

 

Dearest, in my travels

My heart knows but longing.

My consciousness  unravels

My dreams thronging

Mapping my  way home.

But my dearest I won't return.

My soul damned to roam

Never to see the home fire burn.

Ever but a spirit in dream.

Morpheus hath me in his embrace.

Hath bedded me 'pon a distant moonbeam.

'Tis the bitter fact I must face.

Keep a candle burning in thy ethereal window.

That I may find thee in this alternative reality.

That these surreal winds me one day blow,

Carrying me then back to thee.

'Twas promised me all would be bolder

Here in the land of dream,

But all is darker and colder.

I can but endlessly scream.

Call thy blessed name

Through this vast abbyss.

In search of candle flame.

In hopes to meet thy kiss.

'Twere as the skies bleed

My heart's longing pain.

Separated from what I need.

'Tis but thee that holds me sane.

I hear the waves beat ashore,

Yet I spy no harbor nor bay.

Naught as drear and nothing more.

O how my heart strings fray.

Alas, a light cuts the drear.

I can finally see hither the breech.

I know you are me near

As I reach the beach.

Morpheus hath harketh my pleas.

The veil lifts to colour bold.

I fall fordone to my knees.

The sands of homeland, I hold.

A grateful handfull I doth steal.

Wander to thy awaiting bed.

Sand in thy eyes that thou seeeth real.

For reality is only something in thy head.

Welcome Home my dear

To my loving embrace.

Thou shalt remaineth here

For here is now our place.
